Dancing is unfolding design in space and it takes a certain amount of learning to be able to do it in an interesting manner and engagingly well !
Movement sessions are ideal environments for learning in multiple ways. It can help one understand the relationship of arts, culture and society, to understand concepts of space and time, connections to other subjects such as anatomy, mechanics of movement and to larger overarching concerns like its contribution to the field of education and child development.
We are looking at dance and theatre practices as forms that have a larger impact than to be merely entertaining!
This course will give students opportunities to work on their individual forms of expression, cultivate critical thinking, learn to create by using a variety of stimuli, make lesson plans that are effective and develop appropriate assessment rubrics and methodology
